Well I have E6600 Clocked 3.0 GHz and 8800GTS running 400W Chieftec (came with case) for 5 months and no problem at all.
Well, i had already steam installed, so no issues with steam here, 500mb for a demo, it is nothing special. What you guys want then? 100mb demo?
Also with DFP i had no problem with DFP gear stick thingy whatsoever, so again your fault.
Physics: Just decent, no problem.
Anyways these my opinions, full graphics maximum AI etc. runs good. Dont compare it to LFS like: oh look LFS has constant framerate, and this doesent.
Those two games has different graphics, offcourse there is different framerate.
LFS is very good simulator, no doubt about that and kudos to Scavier.

Forget about DiRT, nowhere you can play this good with 7600GT and your processor. DiRT want's 8800 and nice dual-core to get the most goodness out of it.
Force feedback is really nice, i wish LFS had same force feedback, like when car is standing and neutral, you can feel little shaking etc. Why LFS doesen't have that?
Best combination IS NOT LFS+GT4 , BUT LFS+Forza 2. That would be so fricken awesome!

Back in the demo times, when there was going around alot of drag racing down the BL back straight, me and 3 other guys lined up. As lights went green, we all pushed pedal to the metal and we reached to bridge, where everyone were extremely close, UNTIL one guy SLIGHTLY bumped the guy next him, and the guy who got lightly bumped offcourse started sliding because of the bump, and because drag sets were high and stiff etc, that guy just sideways went off in the air, like air lifted car up and you know what madness that caused: everyone rolled, slided... I wish i had a replay, it was so cool to see during race one guy just lift off into high air just because some bump

Take the task manager and look what process is taking up so much resources, you said you have average 80%, thats too much, I once had svchost.exe, which took 100% and it was pain in a**. After using zonealarm and scanning, problem went away
